Mr. Blaž Peternel has more than ten years of experience as a telecommunication operator's research group leader. Currently he is a leader of a Research group at SmartIS, Slovenia. His research interests focus on various deployments of IoT ecosystems from the techno-economical perspective (e.g.: Smart Grid, eHealth, Connected/Smart Home, Smart City, Agro and Bio sensoring). Throughout his career, he has gained extensive knowledge and experience in FP7, H2020 and national R&D projects and has become one of the key personnel involved in these projects.

The SmartCityPlatform connects all the core elements of a successfully managed city. It allows the SmartMayor to manage urban development,
socio-economic development and technological development of the city, measuring and reporting progress in real time.
